Velocity: The Art of Motion at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, the largest, stand-alone automotive fine art exhibition in the United States and a first in the Midwest. The exhibition will include paintings, sculpture, photography, illustration and collage. Public Opening Reception, June 29 (4-6PM). Additional related events including concerts and car shows are scheduled through the duration of the exhibtion.

Bastile Day Celebration. Celebrate "French Independence Day" with the right people and the right automobiles. At the Theatre de la Jeune Lune, 105 North First Street, Minneapolis. Free admission for club members - bring your car (parking in the lot across the street for French cars only!) and share your enthusiasm with the crowd. Bring some picnic food - maybe we'll go out for supper afterwards. Music (and dance - cajun and salsa bands), drink and food provided by Alliance Francaise. More info at the Alliance website.

Vintage Microcar Club National Meet in Golden, Colorado. The featured marque is the Citroen 2CV (!!!) in celebration of the car's 60th Anniversary. The Mile High Microcar Club hosts this gathering at Heritage Square. The event is for all cars with engines under 1000cc. New London to New Brighton Vintage Car Run. Get close to aged classics (a Zebra or Didion) during the noon lunch break at Buffalo (MN) Senior High School. Or meet them at the end of the day (after 4:30PM) at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton ("Pioneer Days"). In past years a Citroen Type A, 2CV or DS has attracted nearly as much attention and enthusiasm as a Curved-dash Oldsmobile or a Maxwell touring car. Info: Antique Car Run.

After the awards ceremony, we continue our cordial picnic partying into the early evening at the St. Croix River Park just across the border (with excellent swimming).
